Cedartown First is pleased to welcome Rev. Britt Madden, Jr. to preach our Homecoming on Sunday, April 29th, at 11am.  Following worship, the day will also include a covered dish lunch so save this date and make plans to be a part of something special.  Please take a moment and invite others to worship.  Lori Smith and our young adults will be hosting the lunch and ask that folks bring items according to the first letter of their last names … letters “A – I” (bring an entree), letters “J – P” (bring a side or salad), and letters “Q – Z” (bring a dessert).  The church will provide drinks, condiments, and serviceware along with some meat.  Come and be a part of this special day and covered dish event.

Pack-a-Sack   for The Samaritan House

Our current local mission effort is a pack-a-sack  to benefit TheSamaritan House, the emergency food pantry in Cedartown.  Our pack-a-sack gifts will help restock the shelves at The Samaritan House with items that they currently need.  Please continue to add requested items to your sack and then return your ‘packed’ sacks to the Gathering Room this Sunday, April 22.   Sacks with a list of needed items are still available on the table in the Gathering Room.  The missions committee thanks you for supporting way of giving to the Samaritan House and helping those in our community who need food assistance at this time.  Cedartown First continues to be a caring and a sharing church.

A New Ministry

We have a new ministry partnership with The Boys and Girls Club of Cedartown and the Bagwell Food Pantry located in Rome.  Each week, a different team of volunteers serves as transportation to pick up boxed meal sacks from the pantry and deliver them to the children for the weekend.  Dean Nissen has graciously agreed to coordinate this ministry outreach.  Serving this week is Casey Thomas.  If you would like to find out more, please contact Dean at 770.881.0226 or email deanoniss@aol.com.

If you or your group would like to serve at the Bagwell Food Pantry, contact Dawn Hayes at dhayes@actionministries.net.

College Students

Parents – if you have a child currently in college or soon to be going in that direction, please send his/her name to the church office along with the name of the school and a current mailing address.  We are beginning a new outreach to our students while they are away at school.

Graduate Sunday

Is planned for Sunday, May 20th, at the 11am Worship Service (also Pentecost Sunday).  If you have a young adult that has graduated this year from high school or college, please send his/her name and program graduation information to the church office so that we can include their information in our bulletin.
